Macquarie’s GIG launches European solar energy company

by Kali Persall

Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (GIG) has launched specialist solar energy company Cero Generation, which houses one of the largest solar development portfolios in Europe.

Cero’s 8-gigawatt portfolio contains more than 150 projects located in the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Poland, France and the Netherlands.

Cero specializes in the delivery of utility-scale projects, onsite generation and integrated storage. GIG said Cero’s ground-mounted, utility-scale projects offer investors opportunities to acquire ready-to-build or fully-commissioned solar generation assets. Cero develops, finances, builds, owns and operates assets for commercial and industrial customers to help them reduce energy bills, enhance reputation and achieve decarbonization goals.
