Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association (LACERA) has chosen Meketa Investment Group to provide general investment consulting services for the Pension Plan and OPEB Master Trust, according to a recent board meeting document.
The general consultant will undertake asset-liability studies; conduct ESG analyses; collaborate with staff and other LACERA consultants in evaluating the Pension Plan and OPEB Trust; conduct due diligence by independently evaluating investment opportunities and preparing investment recommendations; and undertake performance reporting, among other tasks.
Meketa was one of three firms that responded to the pension fund’s search for a general consultant, which began in 2021. Callan and NEPC were the other contenders. LACERA said all three firms met the minimum qualifications, such as advising at least 10 public and/or private
