Jacobs secures $53m contract for U.K. nuclear project

Jacobs, a Texas-based civil engineering firm, has secured a new $53 million project management resources (PMR) framework contract with EDF Nuclear Operations, a licensee of eight nuclear power stations that account for 16 percent of the United Kingdom’s electricity output. The two-year contract starts on Jan. 1, 2024.

Jacobs currently supports operations at four advanced gas-cooled reactor (AGR) stations, the transition from generation to defueling at another three AGR stations, and the operation and life extension program for the Sizewell B pressurized water reactor under an existing PMR framework.

Now in its ninth year, the existing PMR contract supports work for more than 200 project management staff, project engineering specialists and site team supervisors. The new framework is being contracted to a single source in recognition of performance from previous years.
