The Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) has approved a $100 million commitment to Partners Group Direct Infrastructure 2020, IREI has learned.
Partners Group Direct Infrastructure 2020 will have three target areas of focus, including net-zero carbon, social infrastructure and the densification of digitization infrastructure. The fund already has secured three seed assets, and the firm has a number of transactions in the pipeline, according to sources with knowledge of the matter.
As of February, Partners Group had raised $2.5 billion for the vehicle, moving it halfway toward its $5 billion fundraising target. The fund is on track to become the largest fund that Partners Group has raised, to date.
IMRF could not be reached to comment on its investment activity.
