Hickory is planning to construct its first data center facility in Melbourne, Australia, according to Data Center Dynamics.

Hickory, which develops commercial, residential and mixed-use buildings across Australia, is now planning to build a 36-megawatt facility on a 3.5-hectare (8.6-acre) site. The building will have 25,000 square meters (269,097 square feet) of floor space across 12 data halls.

Construction is expected to start later this year, pending development approval.
