Equinix, Inc. is planning to acquire four data centers from Chilean telecommunications provider Empresa Nacional De Telecomunicaciones (Entel) for an enterprise value of $705 million.
The transaction includes three data centers in Chile and potentially one data center in Peru. The three data centers in Chile are located in the metropolitan area of Santiago. The Peruvian data center is a well-established Tier III site in Peru’s capital city, Lima.
The transaction will help solidify Equinix's leadership as the top regional provider of digital infrastructure services in Chile. With three data-center sites in Santiago, the deal also includes significant expansion capacity in the region..
