EnCap Investments has secured approximately $2.1 billion for its EnCap Energy Capital Fund XII, according to a recent filing with the SEC.
With a $4 billion fundraising target, EnCap Energy Capital Fund XII will invest in traditional upstream opportunities and acquisitions of mineral rights and royalty streams by providing growth capital to management teams focused on known producing regions in North America.
EnCap Energy Capital Fund XII opened to investors in April 2023 and since has garnered commitments from several pension fund investors, including the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System of the State of Arizona, the Orange County (Calif.) Employees Retirement System, Alaska Permanent Fund Corp., the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, and the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, according to IREI’s database.
