London-based Downing has established a business focused on the development of renewable-energy projects in the United Kingdom.
The business will assemble an investment pipeline of best-in-class solar, wind and battery-storage projects to be offered exclusively to funds and vehicles managed by Downing. The goal will be to create a pipeline that generates an annual investment quantum of around £100 million ($138 million) for these funds and vehicles in the medium-term.
The development team will be based in a newly opened office in Glasgow, giving Downing greater coverage in the United Kingdom. Tony Gannon, who previously held senior management roles within ScottishPower Renewables, will lead the team as head of development. Gannon is joined by Chris Coates and Derek Wilson, who will serve as project engineer and project support lead, respectively.
“We are delighted to launch the development business within the energy and infrastructure team,” said Tom William
