DigitalBridge Group, in partnership with Brookfield Infrastructure and its institutional partners, have agreed to acquire a 51-percent ownership stake in GD Towers, the mobile telecommunications tower business of Deutsche Telekom.
The transaction values GD Towers, Germany’s largest tower company, at €17.5 billion ($17.5 billion) on a consolidated basis, including the assumption of net debt.
GD Towers owns and operates more than 33,000 towers and communication sites in Germany and more than 7,000 towers and communication sites in Austria. The company’s high-quality portfolio is supported by an anchor-tenancy agreement with Deutsche Telecom, which will retain a 49-percent minority ownership stake in GD Towers.
