Digital Colony has held a $4.1 billion first close for its second fund dedicated to global communications-infrastructure investments, according to Bloomberg News. The fund has a $6 billion fundraising target.
Investors include the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, Employees Retirement System of Texas, Virginia Retirement System, the Orange County (Calif.) Employees Retirement System, and Wafra Inc., which invests on behalf of Kuwait.
