City of Houston issues RFQ for airport terminal link system

by Andrea Zander

The City of Houston has issued a request for qualification (RFQ) for the replacement, operations and maintenance of the Skyway Automated People Mover (APM) System in Texas.

The project entails various responsibilities encompassing the Skyway APM Replacement Project, including activities such as demolition, disposal, design, fabrication, assembly, factory testing, construction, installation, delivery, integration, testing, commissioning, safety certification, demonstration and subsequent operations and maintenance.

Skyway (formerly TerminaLink) is an automated people mover system operating at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston. The system is 0.7 miles long and runs along the north side of the airport, beyond airport security. The system serves all of the airport's five terminals.

The deadline for proposal submission is Oct. 19, 2023.
