Copenhagen Infrastructure IV (CI IV), a fund managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), is planning to invest in a portfolio of onshore wind and solar projects — some with collocated battery energy storage systems — under development in Wales.
The renewable portfolio is owned by Bute Energy, a developer of onshore wind and solar projects in Wales. The portfolio, which consists of projects at various stages of development, could have an installed capacity of more than 2,000 megawatts by 2030. CIP said extensive engagement and consultation with stakeholders and local communities will be undertaken.
The projects are expected to attract significant investment and deliver substantial socioeconomic benefits to the local and regional economy. The first projects are expected to commence construction in 2024.
Bute will continue to lead the development activities, and CIP will contribute its expertise in procurement and financing large-scale renewable energy
