CEO of Inland Rail to step down

Richard Wankmuller, CEO of Inland Rail at the Australian Rail Track Corp. (ARTC), has announced his retirement after three years at the company.

Wankmuller has more than 35 years of senior management experience in the private and public sector infrastructure market, according to his LinkedIn page. He has held CEO and managing director roles, as well as executive and nonexecutive board of director positions, with some of the world’s largest engineering and construction companies.

As CEO at Inland Rail, Wankmuller was responsible for the development and delivery of the Inland Rail program. The program is constructing a new rail freight capability between Melbourne and Brisbane, Australia, while connecting to existing freight lines and enabling a complete redefinition of the supply chain capability across the country
