A pandemic-led spike in requirements for data storage propelled total data center net absorption in Asia Pacific tier 1 markets (Tokyo, Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong SAR) to 322 megawatts (MW) in 2020, double the volume of 2019 and marking an all-time high, according to CBRE, published in its Asia Pacific Data Center Trends Report for Second Half 2020 report.
