GSO Capital Partners, the credit platform of Blackstone Group, has held a final closing of its GSO Energy Select Opportunities Fund I with $4.5 billion in capital commitments.
The global investor base included corporate and international pension funds, financial institutions, endowments, foundations and family offices.
With $115 billion in total assets under management, GSO is one of the world’s largest credit-oriented alternative asset managers. Blackstone has $512 billion in assets under management. The firm invests in private equity, real estate, public debt and equity, non-investment-grade credit, real assets, and secondary funds.
