by Kali Persall

Decarbonization Partners, a partnership between BlackRock and Temasek focused on investing in next-generation private companies that support the acceleration of decarbonization and the transition to a net-zero economy, has achieved a $1.4 billion final closing for its inaugural late-stage venture capital and growth private equity investment fund, The Decarbonization Partners Fund I.

The fund surpassed its fundraising target of $1 billion and attracted a diverse set of more than 30 institutional investors representing 18 countries, in addition to commitments from BlackRock and Temasek.

The mixture includes public and private pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, corporates and family offices across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Investors in the fund include Allstate, BBVA, KIRKBI, Mizuho Bank, MUFG Bank, and TotalEnergies, among others, as well as capital commitments from a number of Singaporean institutional investors.
