Acciona has renewed its 100 percent renewable energy supply contract for 46 stores owned by Fnac Portugal, a cultural and technological products retailer.
Under the contract, Acciona will provide Fnac Portugal with nearly 13,000 megawatt hours of renewable capacity, helping Fnac Portugal avoid 3,800 tons of carbon dioxide annually, the equivalent of taking 1,462 cars off the road or planting 6,700 trees.
Acciona has 166 megawatts of renewable generation assets in Portugal, including wind and solar installations. The company’s portfolio in Portugal includes 16 wind farms, as well as one of the largest photovoltaic plants in the Iberian Peninsula, the 46-megawatt Amareleja Solar Power Plant.
Acciona’s new two-year contract with Fnac follows other agreements with clients in Portugal, such as Coca-Cola, Danone, Makro, Indorama, Sonae Arauco and STCP, strengthening the company’s portfolio of international corporate clients.
