Colombian financial services company Bancolombia has closed $531 million in long-term financing to advance the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the accesses to the north of Bogotá through the AcceNorte concession, according to La Republica.

This project seeks to improve the connectivity of the capital with Briceño and Zipaquirá, passing through Chía and Cajicá, with a total length of 65 kilometers (40.4 miles). The road will have a direct impact on mobility for 40,000 vehicles per day, the highest traffic within national roads.

Within the scope of the project is the construction of 3.2 kilometers (2 miles) of a new bypass to Chía, 4.18 kilometers (2.6 miles) of extension to five lanes between 245 Street and La Caro, at the Bogotá exit, and 4.91 kilometers (56.6 miles) of construction of the second carriageway between Calle 245 and Carrera 7.
