Commerz Real, the real assets subsidiary of Commerzbank, is planning to grow its electricity production in 2023.
The asset manager recently acquired a shareholding in a French wind and solar portfolio with an installed capacity of 169 megawatts, five solar parks to be constructed in Sweden with an installed capacity of 246 megawatts, and five wind energy plants in Finland with an installed capacity of 28.5 megawatts.
The renewable-energy plants in which funds or mandates managed by Commerz Real have a stake have generated a total power volume of more than 3 billion kilowatt-hours, or about 3 terawatt-hours. In the past year, the production of green electricity in the managed funds increased by more than 15 percent as a result of investments in European wind farms and solar parks for institutional fund products, as well as for the retail fund Klimavest.
