GIP-backed Vena Energy expands development of offshore wind in Taiwan

Vena Energy, a portfolio company of Global Infrastructure Partners, has plans to launch two offshore wind projects to participate in auctions under Taiwan Phase 3 Offshore Wind Zonal Development.

The two projects, Wei-Na and Wei-Long, have a total capacity of 1.8 gigawatts. The 1,200-megawatt Wei-Na Offshore Wind Project will be located 20 kilometers (12.4 miles) off the coast of Miaoli County, with a site area of about 126 square kilometers (49 square miles). The 600-megawatt Wei-Long Offshore Wind Project will be located 43 kilometers (27 miles) outside Changhua County and spans an area of 76 square kilometers (29 square miles).
