Meridiam and Casino partners to create nationwide network of charging EV hubs in France

by Released

Meridiam and Casino has signed an agreement to create the largest network of ultrafast charging infrastructure hubs in France for electric vehicles. This agreement is a technological first of its kind in France.

Under this agreement, Meridiam through its 100 percent owned subsidiary Allego, the pan-European leader in electric mobility, will provide charging capacities to all types of electric vehicles (cars and buses) on 80 Casino sites by 2021.

GreenYellow will provide 100 percent green electricity for the charging stations.

The charging stations will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, accessible to everyone and will allow electric vehicles, slow charging (6 hours to 8 hours), fast charging (30 minutes to 45 minutes) and even ultra fast charging (5 minutes to 10 minutes) on the same site. These new-generation ultra-fast charging stations will allow an electric vehicle to travel 300 kilometers (186 miles) with a single charge of 5 minutes to 10 minutes.

This initiative is part of a global European project developed by Allego and Meridiam and supported by the European Union, the Metropolitan Greater Areas Electrified (Mega-E) project. By 2021, the ambition is to deploy more than 300 such ultra-fast charging sites throughout Europe.
