UBS Asset Management (UBS AM) has hired three senior industry experts to establish a new energy-storage strategy.
Based in New York, Mark Saunders, George Manahilov and Ken-Ichi Hino will join UBS AM and bring a wealth of expertise developing and investing in renewable energy.
Saunders and Manahilov will co-head the energy-storage strategy, reporting to Tommaso Albanese, head of infrastructure in UBS AM’s real estate and private markets business.
Saunders previously spent three years at Goldman Sachs Renewable Power Group, where he led the formulation of an investment strategy for stand-alone storage assets and executed on 255 megawatts of energy-storage deals and managed the onboarding of 2 gigawatts of solar acquisitions. Before that, he served as CEO of a solar-technology startup and spent 14 years at AeroVironment, commercializing battery, solar and fuel-cell technology.
Manahilov brings10 years of experience in renewables development and investing
