The infrastructure asset class: far from retrograde

Stocks or equities, fixed income or bonds, and real estate or other tangible assets — these are the big contenders; the kinds of assets your mind will most likely land on when considering what kind of investments a portfolio should contain in the current investing environment.

These assets are perceived as safe havens for investors since they have been around for longer and managers are more experienced and familiar with their ins and outs and how to invest in them.

Some asset classes, however, might not come to mind the first time around; one of these being the infrastructure asset class. Yet, the infrastructure asset class is quickly getting the attention of more investors.
