As some of our readers may recall, when we launched the first edition of what was then known as The Institutional Real Estate Letter in January 1989, we didn’t have a website. This was six years before Netscape, and most of us mortals didn’t have direct access to the Internet, let alone the World Wide Web.

As many pundits predicted at the time, the arrival of the Internet for the masses did indeed change just about everything. And so did the arrival of the World Wide Web, which put at your fingertips just about any kind of information you wanted to find, and made that information accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
