UK is top location for residential investment post-Brexit

The UK has been named the No. 1 location for residential investment during the next 12 months, according to a survey of investors, developers and asset managers.

Legal giant DLA Piper has surveyed more than 500 real estate professionals who control more than $3 billion (€2.5 billion) of real estate assets across Europe, China and the US, and found that 33 percent of respondents favour the UK post-Brexit as the most attractive residential market in 2021, followed by France (28 percent), Germany (25 percent), Spain (24 percent) and Italy (18 percent).

Overall, nearly three-quarters of the survey’s respondents plan to invest in European residential assets during the next 12 months. Of these, nearly one-third expect to invest more in 2021 compared to 2020, on average increasing assets by nearly 30 percent. When investing,
