DEI benchmarking for the commercial real estate investment industry

The real estate industry’s efforts to promote diversity, equity and inclusion have taken a step forward as seven industry organizations — ANREV, INREV, NAREIM, NCREIF, PREA, REALPAC and ULI — have come together to support and expand the Global Real Estate DEI Survey, providing metrics related to gender, ethnicity and nationality at commercial real estate organizations globally.

The survey, which is being conducted by Ferguson Partners, will collect data through Oct. 22 with results released in December.

“As commercial real estate firms evolve their approach to DEI, the ability to track progress and collaborate becomes increasingly critical — not just within an organization, but across peers, sectors and the industry as a whole,” said Zoe Hughes, CEO of NAREIM, in a statement. “The Global Real Estate DEI Survey provides a baseline understanding of DEI progress to date.
