BlackRock acquires MGPA to create

Big news in the commercial real estate industry as real estate giant BlackRock has agreed to acquire London-based investment advisory company MGPA and all of its assets.

Prior to the acquisition, US-based BlackRock managed approximately €10.4 billion in assets, according to the Global Investment Managers 2012 special report prepared by Institutional Real Estate, Inc (IREI) and Property Funds Research (PFR). Following the acquisition of MGPA, and its $12 billion (€9.2 billion) in assets, BlackRock says it will manage approximately $25 billion (€19.3 billion) in real estate assets, making it one of the 25 largest investment managers by total real estate asse
