Barings buys prime industrial assets as part of A$100m Brighter Super mandate

Barings has acquired two prime Australian industrial warehouse assets across 28,508 square metres of net lettable area in Berrinba and Archerfield, as part of Brighter Super’s Queensland Investment Strategy.

The acquisitions are the first seed assets acquired by Barings under the A$100 million (US$66 million) mandate awarded by Brighter Super in 2024. The mandate is focused on procuring a diversified portfolio of high-quality, income-producing industrial assets across Queensland, including major metropolitan and regional markets. The mandate forms part of Brighter Super’s Queensland Investment Strategy, which will see an additional A$500 million (US$33 million) invested in Queensland in the next three to five years.

The newly acquired assets in Berrinba and Archerfield are home to Australian businesses including Total Logistics Solutions (a logistics provider for some of Australia’s biggest retailers) and Roses Only (a floral retailer). The assets were brokered b
