A mid-year slump

A total of 14 new investment funds were launched during second quarter 2024, down from first quarter’s total of 33 new funds, according to data tracked by Institutional Real Estate, Inc.’s IREI.Q database. This is the second-lowest number of funds launched since third quarter 2023 with 22 funds launched. The new investment funds are seeking to raise an aggregate of approximately $10.9 billion.

PATRIZIA’s PATRIZIA TransEuropean Property VIII is the largest fund launched during second quarter 2024. The value-added closed-end fund will focus on investing  with an income and growth strategy in diversified properties across Europe (including the United Kingdom).

The second-largest fund to launch in second quarter 2024 was Prime Finance’s Prime Finance Short Duration 9. The closed-end real estate debt fund is seeking to raise approximately $1.6 billion and will invest in diversified properties in the United States.
