Zenobē, a global fleet electrification and battery storage specialist headquartered in London, and the City of Brampton, Ontario, are leading a group of U.K.- and Canada-based partners in launching a C$4 billion ($3 billion) collaboration to electrify the Brampton Transit bus fleet.
The initiative will bring C$1 billion ($728 million) foreign investment into Canada, strengthening business ties between the United Kingdom and Canada. It marks the first phase of a 10-year electrification framework serving Toronto’s largest suburb and supporting the transition to a zero-emission public transit system.
The Brampton project is one of the largest zero-emission bus programs in North America. The partnership intends to bring 1,000 electric buses to the roads and replace the city’s existing diesel vehicles.
