Washington-based pension commits $40m to infrastructure fund

The $1.6 billion Tacoma (Wash.) Employees' Retirement System has committed $40 million to Pantheon Global Infrastructure Fund III, according to Tim Allen, retirement director and CIO.

Pantheon Global Infrastructure Fund III, managed by London-based Pantheon Ventures, is an infrastructure fund that will invest globally.

The pension fund committed $30 million to the fund’s predecessor, Pantheon Global Infrastructure Fund II, in 2014.

Pantheon Ventures currently has $36 billion assets under management, with $20 billion committed to 590 primary investments and $10 billion committed to 340 secondary transactions, according to the firm’s website.
