Volvo plans to sell e-trucks in December, Tesla signs largest order

by Andrea Zander

Volvo Trucks North America announced it will begin selling its Volvo VNR Electric, a truck for regional transport, starting on Dec. 3, 2020.

The 48-ton trucks have a range of 186 miles depending on the battery configuration. In addition, the firm announced Volvo Trucks will sell a complete range of battery-electric trucks in Europe for distribution, refuse, regional transport and urban construction operations.

Volvo Trucks started manufacturing the Volvo FL Electric and Volvo FE Electric in 2019. These are electric trucks intended for city distribution and refuse operations, primarily in Europe.

Volvo plans to have its entire product range fossil-free by 2040.
