VINCI Construction UK will deliver Reigate & Banstead Borough Council’s new €56 million ($66 million) cinema, retail and homes development at Marketfield Way in Redhill, U.K. With the first stage of site preparation complete, construction of the buildings has now begun. Piling rigs arrived onsite at the beginning of June to begin work on the building’s foundations, which will take about three months to complete. Foundations for the new cinema have been dug already, and work will soon commence on the construction of a new basement for the new residential units. Work also has begun to build a new electricity substation.
When complete, the Marketfield Way scheme will provide a seven-screen cinema, shops and restaurants, and 150 one- and two-bedroom homes, plus a new pedestrian route linking the High Street and Marketfield Way.
