Victory Capital Management buys first alternative investment franchise

Victory Capital Management has agreed to acquire New Energy Capital Partners (NEC), representing the company’s first franchise focusing exclusively on alternative investments.

Based in Hanover, N.H., NEC is an alternative asset management firm focused on debt and equity investments in clean energy infrastructure projects and companies. In 2020, projects funded by NEC offset more than 4.4 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalents.

With four active private closed-end funds, NEC invests across both debt and equity instruments and has a diverse investor base, representing a mixture of institutional investors such as endowments, foundations, insurance companies, pension plans, health systems, government entities and family offices.

Following the acquisition, NEC will become Victory Capital’s 11th investment franchise.
