Vantage constructs its first data center campus in South Africa

Vantage Data Centers has broken ground on its first African campus, in Johannesburg, leveraging a $1 billion investment from existing financial partners.

The 80-megawatt campus will be located in Johannesburg’s Waterfall City, a thriving business and data center ecosystem in the heart of the continent’s largest data center market.

This marks Vantage’s entry into its fifth continent. From its initial U.S. roots, Vantage previously expanded to two Canadian markets in early 2019, to six European markets in 2020 and to five markets in Asia Pacific in 2021.
