University of Michigan commits $50m to energy fund

The Regents of the University of Michigan’s endowment has committed $50 million to Kayne Anderson Energy Fund VIII.

Kayne Anderson Energy Fund VIII is managed by Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors. The infrastructure fund will invest in energy assets throughout North America.

The fund’s predecessor, Kayne Anderson Energy Fund VII, held a $2 billion final close in October 2016.

Kayne Anderson’s energy and infrastructure marketable securities group has more than $9 billion in assets under management.
