Two Australian pension funds, the A$105 billion ($74 billion) UniSuper fund and the A$11 billion ($7.8 billion) Australian Catholic Superannuation (ACS) fund have agreed to explore a potential merger.
The merger would provide ACS members with access to UniSuper’s low fees, high-investment performance and commitment to ESG-themed investment options. The next stage in the process would be a heads of agreement, which is not expected until second quarter 2022.
Both funds have begun conducting due diligence of the potential benefits for members of any merger activity.
