Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield to spend $1 billion on mall in Silicon Valley

by Andrea Zander

Westfield Valley Fair and its principal owner and operator, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, have unveiled a $1.1 billion expansion plan, which will add more than 500,000 square feet to the regional mall, creating a destination center that will total 2.2 million square feet and have 360 storefronts when completed. The mall, located in Santa Clara, Calif., serves the greater San Jose area.

The plan includes a new three-story Bloomingdales, a two-story flagship Apple store and an Eataly dining and cuisine store. Valley Fair’s expansion also includes a new 2,800-spot parking ramp near Stevens Creek Boulevard.
