UBS Asset Management is planning to close a new U.K. data center investment in September, IREI has learned.
This follows nearly a month after UBS AM acquired Lünecom, a German independent fiber-optic infrastructure operator. Lünecom offers super-fast internet via fiber to the home, as well as IP telephony and IPTV.
UBS-AM’s investment will provide financing to support future capex deployment to deliver on services to a pipeline of up to 100,000 homes, with the potential to expand to an additional 50,000 homes in target areas across northern Germany.
IREI understands that both the Lünecom and planned data center investments are in scalable platforms with opportunities to invest in growth capital projects. The firm declined to comment on its investment plans.
