U.S. investors plan $48b in real estate commitments

U.S. investors plan to invest $48 billion in real estate in 2014, according to the preliminary results of Institutional Real Estate, Inc.’s annual investor survey. IREI has been conducting this survey together with Kingsley Associates for 18 years, and this year’s release, Global Annual Institutional Investor Survey, is the first time the survey included investors outside the United States. The survey is forward looking and comes from investors’ plans for the coming year. IREI also uses the previous year’s actual data to compare what investors actually did in the previous year vis-à-vis what they had said they planned to do in the prior year’s survey.
