The Pensions Infrastructure Platform has held a first close for its direct infrastructure fund, PiP Multi-Strategy Infrastructure Fund, raising £125 million ($181 million) in equity commitments from pension fund investors.
The vehicle launched this year with a £1 billion ($1.5 billion) equity fundraising target. Investors include the West Midlands Pension Fund and the Strathclyde Pension Fund.
PiP Multi-Strategy Infrastructure Fund will invest directly in U.K. infrastructure with the objective of producing stable, long-term, inflation-adjusted yields.The fund will focus on core U.K. infrastructure with a buy-and-hold investment strategy, targeting transportation, energy, utilities, communications, housing and social infrastructure.
