U.K. hotel investment volumes reach €3.1b year-to-date

In the first three quarters of 2021, U.K. hotel investment volume reached a total of £2.66 billion (€3.1 billion/$3.6 billion), up 18.7 percent compared to the full-year 2020 volumes, with the final quarter still to go, according to Savills.

The firm forecasts a further £1.34 billion (€1.6 billion/$1.8 billion) worth of hotel assets will be transacted in the final quarter, bringing 2021 year-end volumes to £4 billion (€4.7 billion/$5.4 billion), close to the 15-year average of £4.22 billion (€5.0 billion/$5.7 billion), while up 78.2 percent compared to 2020 volumes.

U.K. hotel transactions reached £935.1 million (€1.1 billion/$1.3 billion) in third quarter 2021, more than treble the volume recorded in third quarter 2020, and up 20.6 percent compared with third quarter 2019. Strong demand since reopening has meant both second quarter and third quarter 2021 volumes exceeded the corresponding quarters in 2019. However, due to a slow opening quarter of the y
