The Gresham House British Strategic Investment Infrastructure Fund (BSIF) managed by specialist alternative asset manager Gresham House, has invested £50 million ($66 million) in Wildanet, an alternative broadband network provider in Cornwall.
Wildanet has developed a fixed wireless network which already passes 30 percent of Cornwall’s properties. The commitment will enable Wildanet to upgrade its network to help bring faster, more reliable broadband connectivity to rural homes and businesses of Cornwall. This involves the rollout of a new full fiber network and an expansion of Wildanet’s fixed wireless network, which will reach 60 percent of Cornwall’s properties when combined. The fiber network is expected to be rolled out over the next three years.
