True Green Capital to take majority stake in U.S. cleantech company

Renewable energy infrastructure investment firm True Green Capital Management (TGC) has plans to acquire a majority ownership in CleanChoice Energy, a cleantech company.

CleanChoice owns solar-generation assets and sells renewable energy to customers in multiple competitive markets across the United States. The company has a development portfolio of more than 300 megawatts in various stages of development and is actively pursuing acquisition and codevelopment opportunities across its territories of focus.

TGC will invest an additional $100 million of capital into developing, acquiring, owning and operating CleanChoice solar projects. The deal will expand TGC’s footprint to include solar power generation in 16 states, including Pennsylvania and Ohio, along with about 215,000 residential customers. The initial focus will be in the ISO-NE, NYISO and PJM markets.
