The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG), a London-listed investment company advised by InfraRed Capital Partners as investment manager and RES as operations manager, has acquired a 49 percent stake in a Spanish solar park.
The seller was Repsol, the Spanish-listed global energy company that developed and built project Valdesolar. Following the sale, Repsol will retain a 51 percent equity interest in the project.
With a capacity of 264 megawatts, Valdesolar represents around 3 percent of TRIG’s portfolio by value. Valdesolar has been operational since December 2021 and generates enough clean energy to power the equivalent of 140,000 homes.
Following this acquisition, Spain represents 8 percent of TRIG’s portfolio, and solar photovoltaic represents 15 percent.
