Tri Global Energy, a developer of utility-scale renewable energy projects, has sold a wind energy project in central Illinois to Denmark-based Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) for an undisclosed amount.
The wind project, known as Woodford Wind Energy, is the first wind project developed and sold by Tri Global Energy in Illinois and the third project launched via a partnership between Tri Global Energy and CIP. The two companies have already constructed more than 500 megawatts of wind energy projects.
The project spans 31,000 leased acres in the central Illinois county of Woodford and will be owned and operated by CIP’s United States subsidiary, Woodford Wind U.S. Inc. According to Tri Global Energy, the project has applied for two separate phases of interconnection, each with 400 megawatts of capacity in the PJM system.
