Tri Global Energy and Leeward Renewable Energy sign second renewables deal

by Kali Persall

Tri Global Energy, an originator and developer of utility-scale renewable energy projects, has agreed to sell two renewable energy projects in Indiana to Leeward Renewable Energy. This represents the second deal between the two companies.

The wind and solar projects were both originated by Tri Global Energy in 2019. Upon completion, Blackford Wind will be capable of delivering up to 200 megawatts and Blackford Solar will be capable of delivering up to 150 megawatts. Combined, the projects are expected to produce enough energy to power more than 80,000 homes.

Great Bay Renewables, a joint venture company between funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, Inc. and Altius Renewable Royalties Corp., is providing royalty financing to fund the project’s development.
