U.K.-based financial technology firm TransferWise has partnered with France–based Groupe BPCE.
Customers of Groupe BPCE will be able to use TransferWise’s international money transfer service directly in their mobile banking apps from 2019.
The partnership will mark the first time in Europe that a major banking group offers TransferWise’s service directly in its own apps.
TransferWise has approximately 3 million users transferring €2 billion ($2.3 billion) each month, and it is looking to boost its reach through the BPCE partnership. BPCE is the second-largest banking group in France. TransferWise will have access to the company’s more than 15 million customers.
