AT TOKYO (@Tokyo), an APAC data center company, has launched a new data center in central Osaka City, the company announced on Oct. 3.
The data center, known as Kansai Chuo Center (KC1), is AT TOKYO’s first data center outside of Tokyo, where it has deployed several other facilities, and marks its expansion into the Kansai region.
“There is rising demand for data center services in the Kansai area, which is the business center of Western Japan,” said the company in a statement.
AT TOKYO aims to begin offering data center services at KC1 for its financial institution clients in January 2020, with a focus on disaster recovery.
“In recent years, the dizzyingly rapid changes of the developing information society have led to greater diversity in the demands placed on the data center industry,” said Akira Nakamura, president and CEO of AT TOKYO in a statement on the company’s website.
“From here on, AT TOKYO will continue to gather together the technology and experience of our shareholder companies who have played important roles in supporting the social infrastructure of Japan, and will aim to continue serving as a professional expert in the data center industry, all rooted in our firm conviction of ensuring ‘zero downtime, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.’”
