Thor Equities Group, a real estate development, leasing and management firm, is moving into the data-center space, DataCentre Magazine reported Friday.
The firm has signed a contract to acquire and develop a state-of-the-art €600 million ($651 million) data-center facility in Madrid. The 200,000-square-meter (2.1 million-square-foot) facility, known as Madrid One will focus on sustainability and offer more than 100 megawatts of IT load.
Madrid One represents the first asset in the firm’s new specialized data-center division, Thor Digital. It will be one of the largest data-center campuses with committed power in Madrid.
IREI understands the project is at an advanced stage of design and permitting, with construction to begin later this year.
